Award Winning Wine

Rutherglen has been producing award winning wine since the 1850s and is now home to 18 wineries. The sunny landscape is ideal for many grape varieties and the area is known for Durif, Muscat, Tempranillo, Marsanne, chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon, Shiraz, and Tokay (Muscadelle). Enjoy a big red on the river or spend time doing a winemaking course on a weekend to learn from international medal winning winemakers.

From international stars appearing at a Day on the Green to wine and food at the Winery Walkabout and Tastes of Rutherglen to outdoors with the Rutherglen Regatta and Tour de Rutherglen. Active Outdoors

Rutherglen is known for cycling, camping, fishing and watersports. Head over to the Murray River and explore one of the world's longest navigable rivers that stretches 2,700 kilometres from the mountains of the Great Dividing Range in north-eastern Victoria to near Adelaide in South Australia.
