Know More About MMM
×The Modified Monash Model (MMM) defines whether a location is a city, rural, remote or very remote.
To be eligible for an RWAV grant, health professionals must be working in an eligible health service in a regional Victorian MMM 2 - 7 location.
For some grants, health professionals working in an Aboriginal health service in a MMM 1 location may also be eligible. Please read the grant guidelines for more.

Health Workforce Scholarship Program
The Health Workforce Scholarship Program (HWSP) is an initiative of the Australian Government Department of Health administered in Victoria by Rural Workforce Agency Victoria. This program is designed to improve access to services needed in remote and rural areas across Australia by supporting an increase in skills, capacity and/or scope of practice. The HWSP provides professional development support to health professionals in rural, regional and remote Australia.
Health Workforce Scholarship Program For Locums
The Health Workforce Scholarship Program (HWSP) is an initiative of the Australian Government Department of Health administered in Victoria by Rural Workforce Agency Victoria. This program is designed to improve access to services needed in remote and rural areas across Australia by supporting an increase in skills, capacity, and/or scope of practice. The HWSP provides professional development support to locum health professionals in rural, regional, and remote Australia.
RWAV RECONCILIATION ACTION PLAN GRANT
A Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is a strategic document that supports an organisation’s business plan. It includes practical actions that will drive an organisation’s contribution to reconciliation both internally and in the communities in which it operates.
Grants of up to $7,000 are available to private practices in regional Victoria (MMM3-MMM6 locations) to support
the development of their Reconciliation Action Plan and their engagement with local Aboriginal communities to improve business practices.
RURAL AMBASSADOR STUDENT GRANT
The RWAV Rural Ambassador Student Grant aims to enhance opportunities for students interested in rural health to participate in, or lead, events and activities that promote rural health. The grant aims to raise awareness of the opportunities available in rural healthcare to young people.
This is a crucial step in attracting and retaining a future rural health workforce.
