What We Offer

Graduate dietitian loving work in Echuca

As of 1 July 2015, RWAV embarked on providing a nursing and allied health recruitment service to the rural and remote communities we work with. Towards the end of August, Amy Burrowes commenced in practice as a new graduate dietitian at Echuca Moama Family Medical Practice. Amy is RWAV’s first placement under the new recruitment service and is also the first Dietitian for the practice.

Echuca Moama Family Medical Practice is a large, well-known practice in the region with clinics located in Echuca and Moama. The practice provide an array of services from General Practice to Podiatry, Mental Health and Osteopathy.  The practice employs two diabetes educators, however a need was identified for a Dietitian to expand the services that are available to the community, which is when Amy was recruited.

A bit about Amy…

Amy is a passionate and enthusiastic new graduate dietitian who grew up in a rural community and has had a vested interest in returning to the country. Amy is extremely familiar with the health issues that rural communities face and would like to be able to contribute to providing better health outcomes to the community she works in.

After her first week in the role, this is what she had to say about it:

“So, after was my first week of being a new graduate dietitian and I have loved every minute of it. I am part of a supportive team of health professionals in a large regional centre where access to a dietitian was limited, until Echuca Moama Family Medical Practice sought a full time Dietitian. I have had the opportunity to work with clients of all different backgrounds and medical conditions. The multidisciplinary environment at the practice makes for an environment that leads to positive health choices.

The more I learn about the opportunities for a Dietitian in Echuca, the more I love the career I chose. I am thankful for RWAV and the support they have given me through all aspects of my recruitment.”
