Fifth-year Monash medical student and RWAV Rural Ambassador, Keyan Sansuka De Silva, recently inspired year 9 students at Bass Coast College, Wonthaggi, through a careers event hosted by the South Gippsland Bass Coast LLEN.
Students rotated through ten-minute conversations with volunteers from diverse industries, gaining insights into career pathways. Sansuka shared his journey in medicine. He is passionate about education and hopes to work closely with universities to provide learning opportunities for future healthcare students.
RWAV is looking for Victorian-based health students, like Keyan, who are passionate about rural health and currently studying a health discipline at a Victorian university, to represent RWAV as Rural Ambassadors.
The program raises awareness of the exciting opportunities in rural healthcare, inspiring secondary and tertiary students by connecting them with enthusiastic ambassadors who share their own career journeys.
