Pathways to Practice Incentives

About the Program

The Pathways to Practice Incentive Pilot (the Pilot) is funded by the Victoria Department of Health (the department). The pilot aims to incentivise selected Masters students, undergraduate students and diploma level students to undertake mental health student placements in rural and regional Victoria through the provision of relocation incentive funding. The Pilot will reduce the financial burden faced by students undertaking placements in rural and regional areas.

The Pathways to Practice Incentive will assist Health Services to ensure they have the necessary infrastructure and supports in place to ensure a positive experience for students.

By addressing these financial barriers, the Pilot aims to increase the uptake of student placements in Victorian rural and regional mental health and wellbeing health services. This will in turn drive interest in future employment in these communities

If the placement has commenced before census date, I may receive your payment earlier, pending university confirmation that the placement has commenced.

Eligibility To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must be a domestic student enrolled in an accredited social work degree at a Victorian public university
