RWAV welcomes the Federal Government’s commitments to rural and regional health in this week’s federal budget.
RWAV’s General Manager – Strategy and Stakeholder Engagement, Lauren Cordwell, said the budget provided a number of funding commitments aimed at improving health outcomes for regional Victorians.
“RWAV is delighted to see commitments in the Federal government’s budget to support the Bonded Medical Program and support collaborative primary care models. We also welcome the significant investment in expanding opportunities for early career doctors to work in rural communities and the expansion of the Rural Locum Assistance Program”.
“We’ll continue to work with the Australian Government to deliver our mission of improving health care for rural, regional and Aboriginal communities in Victoria,” Ms Cordwell said.
