On 26 November, the RWAV Board and leadership team welcomed stakeholders to our new premises to celebrate the achievements of the past year and share insights from the 2024–25 Impact Report.
This year was marked by progress, innovation, and strong partnerships that continue to strengthen the rural and regional health workforce in Victoria. From outreach programs and locum services to student pathways and allied health grants, the report highlights the dedication of health professionals and the vital support of our partners and funders.
We extend our sincere appreciation to all health professionals working across rural and regional communities for their commitment and contribution to improved health outcomes.
Key milestones include:
• 3,384 outreach visits supporting 290 services and reaching 47,826 patients
• 84 GP locum placements delivering 2,208 sessions
• More than $2.7M in grants awarded to 1,749 professionals, students and practices
• 776 health professionals supported through rural practice transitions
• 307 student grants awarded and 17 student ambassadors inspiring future rural clinicians
