This is a perfect opportunity to join a dynamic multi-disciplinary allied health team where your work will focus on minimising the effects of impairment and disability to enable people to remain living independently in the community. Working with adults to the elderly in the clinic and community your clients include; non-English speaking and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds, refugees, frail older people, people with a disability and the socio-economically disadvantaged. Directly impacting the lives of clients and their families in a positive manner is a daily occurrence.

In your role you will undertake assessments and provide intervention to your clients including functional retraining, equipment prescription and home modifications.  Providing flexible service delivery options to meet identified needs, which may include; treatment programs for individuals & groups, a range of health education, health prevention & early identification programs and capacity building initiatives optimally in the clients natural setting.

Working across funding streams such as My Aged Care; NDIS; fee for service; and brokerage services, as well as liaising with families, teachers and other relevant stakeholders to coordinate accessible services.

Key Selection Criteria: (Please address this in your application)

  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy
  • AHPRA registration and member of OTA
  • Experience in providing client and family centred evidence based occupational therapy services, including thorough care planning
  • An understanding of confidentiality and infection control
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Highly developed problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Current driving licence, Current Police and Working with Children check

Grade 2 OTs will also require:

  • Experience in the provision of clinical supervision and demonstrated leadership within OT or multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Post graduate qualifications in a relevant area
  • Experience in developing work practices, policies and procedures.
