General Practitioner: Moe

Position Description:

The Role:

Due to patient demand  there is an exciting opportunity to take over a busy existing patient base. You will be involved with a varied demographic from children to elderly, and your broad range General Practice experience will include you providing chronic health, diabetes care , mental health as well as both men’s and women’s health.

You will require strong diagnostic skills to determine emergency presentations and will have the support of a strong medical and specialist team including O+G and skin specialists.

Nursing home visits , and on-call roster of 1:5 optional.

Strong mentoring and supervision support will be available from the current Principals and a thorough induction will be provided.

Essential Criteria:

  • AHPRA medical registration – Level 3+ Specialist

The Package:

  • 60-65% of billings (negotiable depending on experience and registration)
  • 100% after -hours billings available
  • All other incentives are negotiable

Practice Details:

This mixed billing, busy General Practice situated in the Township of Moe. There is currently 6 doctors including two registrars, two full-time nurses, and reception/administration staff available for support.

The clinic currently offering appointments between Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The doctor team works closely with many other organisations such as the Latrobe and Warragul Hospitals, other doctors and specialists both in the local area and other areas such as Melbourne. The clinic also provides support to the nursing homes Emergency and after-hours work is available through a shared on call roster conducted through the Moe After- Hours Medical Service (MAHMS).

Participation in Medicare Australia initiatives such as Better Access to Mental Health, Diabetes Prevention, Chronic Illness Management, Aged Care Assessments, and the ability to carry out general practice procedures is desirable. The practice offers a team environment with other medical and allied health professionals, to ensure high quality comprehensive care for patients.

Located at the western end of the Latrobe Valley, Moe (population 18,000) offers affordable housing and great access to some of Victoria’s best nature based experiences. There is a strong sense of community and growing pride in what Moe has to offer. The town has excellent recreational facilities including indoor and outdoor sports centres, an all weather athletics track, two 18-hole golf courses and numerous parks and gardens. Moe offers a choice of primary and secondary schools and its own campus of GippsTAFE. It is within easy reach of private schools in Warragul and Traralgon as well as Monash University Gippsland Moe. South of Moe are the scenic Strezlecki Ranges, Wilson’s Promontory National Park and beautiful beaches, to the north extensive alpine ranges with attractions including the snow resort of Mount Baw Baw.
