Role:
Family-owned community clinic is seeking an experienced GP to join their team in Longwarry, and also to continue providing a strong family medicine focus which the clinic has built a reputation on.
You will see a mix of standard consultations, minor procedures, preventive care, chronic disease management and offer health education to patients. The successful candidate will deliver 2 to 3 sessions per week and see 30-40 patients per day in the clinic. As well as the standard GP sessions you’ll also service the local nursing home and the occasional home visits. Managing a caseload that includes drugs and alcohol, aged care, child and maternity health.
You will be supported by six GPs, practice manager and highly experienced administration team. As a result, on-site supervision and mentoring will be available for the right candidate.
Your flexible, easy-going nature and ability to provide a holistic approach to your diagnosis will hold you in high regard among the team.
Essential Criteria
- AHPRA Registration – General or Specialist
- Australian General Practice experience or comparable
- Accident and Emergency Skills required
Package:
Working as an independent contractor you will receive:
- 60% of billings, depending on experience
- Higher % for after-hours
- Ability to support upskilling in interested courses (subject to availability through RWAV)
Practice Details:
This fully computerised practice is one of the few clinics in Longwarry and has built a reputation with the local community for the highest standard of patient care and comprehensive treatment.
An AGPAL accredited, doctor-owned clinic that uses Medical Director and Pracsoft software across three consulting rooms and a treatment room.
The practice has onsite pathology and is seeking to expand their nursing home facilities. Patient health issues that impact on the clinic are predominantly aged care and chronic disease focused. Current and future population growth throughout the region shows a trend towards younger family medicine.
Clinic hours are Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 6:00 pm most days extending 8:00 pm, Saturday 10:00 am – 3:00 pm extending 5:00 pm, Sunday – 9:00 am- 2:00 pm.
Longwarry (population 2,004) is small township located 83km east of Melbourne on the Princes Freeway. Located ten minutes drive from Drouin and commutable from the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Longwarry has a strong community spirit which supports a number of sporting teams, clubs and civic organisations.
