Role:

Whether you are seeking a fresh start or wanting a establish yourself as a senior GP, this is a great chance for you to make your mark in a brand new practice.

Joining a team of two experienced local doctors, you’ll have confidence that you are joining a vibrant and proactive team that will best support you whether you still be on your way to FRACGP/FACRRM or establishing yourself as a lead GP.

The ideal candidate is someone that can work independently whilst also having the desire to grow and be an integral part of the growing team.

On and a day to day basis you will see a mix of standard consultations, provide Chronic Disease Management, Prescriptions. Mental Health assessments and perform Minor procedures.

Currently open Monday to Saturday, you’ll have the option to work either Full time or Part-time, with no VMO or On-call/after hours requirements.

Essential Criteria:

AHPRA Registration – Limited – Level 4 – Specialist

The Package:

60% – 70% of billings (dependent on experience)

Practice Details:

The fully equipped solo practice hosts 7 consulting rooms and 3 treatment rooms that are ready to go for the full range of services; ECG, spirometry, wound care, skin biopsies/Lumps & Bumps clinic, iron infusions, gynaecological procedures, laceration repairs, fracture management, nebulisation, ear irrigation, and Workplace Medical Assessments.

To support you you’ll be joined by the two principal GP’s, a Registered Nurse, a Endorsed Enrolled Nurse and a growing team of practice staff.

The Practice currently provide services to the local aged care facility and there are exciting plans to provide further Allied health services (audiology and echo-cardiograms). On top of this the practice aim to engage a range of other specialists; Psychologist, Psychiatrist, Speech Therapist, Pain Specialist.

Currently in the process of securing Pathology and Dispensary services.

The practice is currently bulk billing but the plan is to transition to be mixed billing.

The Area

Traralgon is located east of Morwell and is the largest city in the Latrobe Valley, which is home to most of Victoria’s power generation facilities.

The city’s large commercial center includes the Stockland Traralgon Shopping Centre, South Side Central which incorporates the major regional railway station, and shops which line the attractive streets of Franklin Street, Seymour Street, and Hotham Street. The landmark building in the town center is the elegant and towering post office building, which dates back to 1887.

Wide tree-lined streets, attractive gardens, and a thriving commercial center are characteristics of the Traralgon of today.

A short drive south of the town is the Loy Yang Power Complex and open-cut coal mine. The Hyland Highway passes right through the complex and a couple of visitor lookouts are provided to marvel at the massive scale of coal mining and electricity generation. The power station’s two chimneys are 260 meters high – roughly the same height as Melbourne’s Rialto Towers.
