General Practitioner: Newborough

Position Description:

  • Specialist GP position
  • Four to five days per week – no weekends

Role

You will step in to a strong, existing patient base to replace a doctor who is leaving the community. Working four to five days at your choice, there are no requirements to hold VMO rights, and the on-call is optional.

Your experience as a specialist GP, with a warm bedside manner and friendly approach to your patients will help you settle in quickly to this friendly and open work environment. You will have an open mind to all patient demographics and be willing to treat those in the community with a mix of health conditions.

Existing and solid referral pathways are available to the nearest hospital, located 20 minutes away, to assist you in the provision of a holistic approach to your patients’ needs and the needs of the community.

Essential Criteria

  • Vocationally Registered
  • Accident and Emergency skills desirable

The Package

  •  70% of billings (expected earning are $250K – $400K)
  • Direct remuneration should you join the on-call roster
  • Partnership opportunity after 12 months
  • Rental subsidy
  • Open to further incentive negotiations

Practice Details:

You will join a well-established clinic that has been committed to providing the highest quality general practice care to all members of the local community for over 13 years. With a strong patient base built over the years, this GPA accredited teaching practice currently uses Medical Director for patient records. In clinic, you will join one other GP who brings over 40 years of experience. You will be supported in practice by administration staff, a practice manager and a practice nurse. The practice nurse will assist you with Chronic Disease Management, immunisations, wound care, diabetes education, and cervical screening.

The clinic provides a general family medicine approach to healthcare to include whole of life primary care. The clinic assist with the provision of after-hours through the Moe After-Hours Medical Service (MAHMS).  After-hours are at the discretion of the individual doctor.

Practice hours are: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:15pm.

Most people know of Moe in the East of Victoria. Newborough is on the east side of Moe. It’s a beautifully serene area that also offers a range of things to do, including; fishing, swimming, boating, shopping, parks and so much more.
