General Practitioner: Myrtleford

An accredited teaching practice is looking for a VR doctor with experience in rural communities. Located in the Alpine region, the practice is surrounded by natural beauty and is a tourist hot spot in winter.

You will be joining a family-oriented practice, with access to mentorship. A typical day would include seeing pre-booked standard patient consultations, patients via triage nurse on the day, pre-booked health assessments and care plans and minor procedures. The practice also supports local residential aged care, providing VMO services.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has an interest in supervision and training. The practice provides supervision to registrars working towards fellowship and provide learning opportunities to students.

  • 70% of billing
  • 85% of after-hours receipts plus on-call allowance for VR contractors

Practice Details:

This well-established practice with modern infrastructure is well supported with 10 consulting rooms including a procedure and nursing room, in house pathology and varied visiting specialist including endocrinologist, paediatrician, diabetes educator, dietitian, counselling and hearing services.

You will be joining a team of six onsite GPs, three practice nurses, a chronic disease nurse and an asthma & respiratory educator nurse, six reception staff, office manager and a practice manager.

Myrtleford is 282 kms northeast of Melbourne via the Hume Freeway. Wangaratta is the nearest larger town, 45kms away and has the closest Public Emergency Department at Northeast Health.  Wangaratta and Albury-Wodonga (one hour away) have most medical sub-specialties available.
