General Practitioner: Drouin

Position Description:

Working in a full-time capacity- 10 sessions a week, you will become part of a supportive work environment with two vocationally registered doctors and 1 nurse, providing holistic and affordable care for the community in Drouin.  A typical day in this bulk billing clinic involves a mixture of standard consults, chronic health, and minor procedures. No VMO, on-call or after-hours responsibilities are required.  Your initiative and strong community focus will see you transition seamlessly into this role.

Essential Criteria:

  • AHPRA Registration – General or Specialist GP
  • Australian GP experience (preferred)

The Package:

  • The doctor will be engaged as a contractor
  • Negotiable % of billing – 60-65% approx
  • Annual, sick and long service leave as per contract
  • Flexible work arrangements – Open Monday to Friday
  • A rural area close to Melbourne – able to commute to work

Practice Details:

This AGPAL accredited organisation, using Best Practice software is a bulk billing clinic expected to expand their services and become a  leading provider of primary health care.

Working with 2 vocationally registered GPs across the organisation, you will be supported by practice nurses, practice manager and have access to a treatment room, podiatry, and other health services. The practices provide a broad-based clinical care and more prevalent patient healthcare problems include Aged Care and Child/ maternity issues.

The Gippsland region is an extensive and diverse geographical area which is renowned for its natural beauty.  There are hundreds of kilometres of stunning coastline, picturesque rivers and lakes, forests and snowfields.  Drouin, located in West Gippsland, is situated among undulating countryside and a rich agricultural area.  Morwell, located in the Latrobe Valley, is a large town located between Moe and Traralgon and is home to most of Victoria’s power generation facilities.
