General Practitioner: Drouin

Position Description:

  • 1 FT role GP supported by Nurses
  • Busy Medical Centre – 35-40 patients per day (as you build up doctor/ patient relation)
  • On-Site supervision and mentoring available
  • A supportive team of 5 doctors
  • Public holidays off

Role 

Working in a full-time capacity- seeing 30-40 patients a day, you will become a part of a supportive work environment with five GP’s and four nurses, providing holistic and affordable care for the community in Drouin and its surrounding areas. You will be supported by two vocationally registered GP’s, practice nurses, practice manager and have access to a treatment room, podiatry, and other health services.

A typical day in this bulk billing clinic involves a mixture of standard consults, chronic health, immunisations, and minor procedures. No VMO, on-call or after-hours responsibilities are required.  Your initiative and strong community focus will see you transition seamlessly into this role.

Essential Criteria:

  • AHPRA Registration – General or Specialist GP

The Package:

  • The doctor will be engaged as a contractor
  • Negotiable % of the billings
  • 2 VR doctors available for support
  • Close to Melbourne or South Eastern Suburbs – able to commute to work

Practice Details:

This AGPAL accredited organisation, using Medical director and Pracsoft software is a bulk billing practice aims to provide services to all age and social demographics. It is a purpose built practice with 7 consulting rooms and on-site pathology collection. The practice hours are from Monday to Friday – 8:30am – 9:00pm, Saturday – 8:00am – 5:00pm and Sunday – 10:00am – 5:00pm.

Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapist, Chiropractor, Diabetic Educator, Dietitian, Psychologist and Speech Pathologist services are all available in the local area and the closest regional hospital is in Warragul just 7 kms away.

The Area

Drouin is a major service town for the surrounding pastoral, agricultural and dairying district. Taste local produce as you explore the surrounding rolling green hillsides of Gippsland Gourmet Country.
