Rural Workforce Agency Victoria (RWAV) is a not-for-profit government-funded organisation dedicated to improving healthcare for rural, regional and Aboriginal communities in Victoria.
To encourage the future health workforce of Victoria to engage in opportunities that will increase their knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, RWAV are partnering with the Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (VACCHO) to fund the cost of Cultural Safety Training session attendance.
The virtual 4.5-hour training sessions will further participants understanding of how to work, and communicate, effectively with Aboriginal people and will include information regarding the following topics
Sessions will run across the 20/21 financial year and will be assessed in competitive rounds (one round in 2020 and one round in 2021). Applicants who show a genuine passion for working in a rural setting after graduation will be prioritised.
