Doctor's Health

RWAV does not manage and is no way associated with the listed assistance programs below, however, they are reputable programs that may offer rural Victorian doctors additional support.

Victorian Doctors Health Program

Help is available through a CONFIDENTIAL and compassionate service for doctors and medical student with health concerns including stress & anxiety problems, substance use disorders, mental health disorders, and any other health problems including physical health concerns.

The program has been established to ensure that a full-time dedicated service is available to meet the needs of sick and impaired doctors and medical students.

Advice is also provided to anyone who is concerned about a doctor - this includes family members, friends, professional colleagues, and hospital or clinic staff.

Call (03) 9495 6011 for this confidential service or visit www.vdhp.org.au for more details.

Bush Crisis Line

The Bush Crisis Line is a 24-hour telephone support and debriefing service for multi-disciplinary, remote health practitioners and their families.

Qualified psychologists with rural, remote and cross-cultural experience answer the Bush Crisis line. Callers don't need to be a member of CRANA - it is open to all remote health practitioners and their families.

You can Freecall the Bush Crisis Line from anywhere in Australia on 1800 805 391.
