Rural Workforce Agency, Victoria (RWAV) is identifying existing Australian research
and innovation in the development of new rural primary health care service models.
The Sustainable Practice project is designed to strengthen Victoria’s provincial
communities through increasing the sustainability of general practices in rural
Victoria.
How will it help my practice?
We intend to provide general practice owners with succession planning and business
advice, information and support to sustain GP services.

- resource guides
- information sessions
- workshops
- business coaching
- succession planning
- resources on teamwork

and information to support general practice owners.

Workshops
A series of succession planning workshops will be held in conjunction with rural
Divisions of General Practice in rural Victoria. To find information about upcoming
workshops visit our calendar of events.
Coaching
Business coaching with expert Victorian rural community knowledge will support the
practice owner. Services may include succession planning, financial, accounting,
or recruitment advice.
Supporting Practices at Risk.
For practices at risk of closure or loss of workforce, additional business advice
and support services will be available.
This may include consideration of alternate practice models or structures that will
support ongoing service delivery.
