The RWAV Cultural Resource Kit provides cultural information and resources for:
- Overseas trained doctors (OTDs) and their families
- Residents of rural communities
- Staff in organisations who may be in contact with OTDs and their families
The Kit was developed through consultation with rural OTDS and their partners, staff at RWAV, the Victorian Divisions of General Practice, rural and regional health services and a range of government departments and agencies.
The RWAV Cultural Resource Kit Provides
A framework for OTDs and their families to access information, organisations and people, and assist their transition into rural and regional Victorian community life.
- A snapshot of information about the cultures and backgrounds of OTDs, and further information which may assist rural communities in welcoming doctors to their new town.
- A database of organisations and services which provide help and advice on issues related to multiculturalism, rural Victoria and rural general practice.
Key Sources of Helpful Information
In addition to the information provided in the Cultural Resource Kit, website links and other resources have been compiled providing information on key agencies and organisations.
The websites and organisations included are only a starting point. Many will provide links to other related websites. A search by topic will provide a wider range of relevant information.
