About the Area

The busy small town of Mirboo North (population 1,450) situated on a high point of the Grand Ridge Road in the Strzelecki Ranges looks down on stunningly beautiful rolling green hills and stands of tall timber. The Grand Ridge Road winds its way for 132 km through tall Mountain Ash trees and steep ferny gullies and is one of Victoria's most spectacular drives. One hour south is Wilson's Promontory National Park, excellent coastal beaches and popular fishing spots both river and ocean. One hour to the north is the beautiful Thomson River valley, the historic gold mining town of Walhalla and the popular cross country skiing destination Mount St Gwinear.
