ACCHS - Victoria Map

Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) Health Services are community controlled health organisations providing comprehensive Primary Health Care (PHC) services to Aboriginal People. They aim to improve the health status of Aboriginal People through the provision of high quality clinical and health improvement care services delivered in culturally appropriate ways.

RWAV is working to support the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHS) in Victoria to recruit and retain general practitioner services. If you are interested in working in an ACCHS we would be very pleased to hear from you.

The Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (VACCHO) is the collective of  all ACCHS around Victoria. Each of their members is an Aboriginal community controlled organisation: most are multi-functional community organisations with health as a key part of their responsibility and some come from groups offering comprehensive health services.

"Each Aboriginal community needs its own community based, locally owned, culturally appropriate and adequately resourced, primary health care facility. That is our right."
