  • If you are an ATD without a postgraduate general practice qualification and you completed your intern year after 1996, please refer to the Rural Locum Relief program.

Overseas Trained Doctors (OTDs)

A number of different Schemes or Programs are available for suitably qualified and experienced OTDs. These relate to your residency status, qualifications, skills and experience.

Victorian Overseas Trained Doctors Rural Recruitment Scheme (VORRS or 5-year Scheme)

This scheme aims to attract OTDs with post graduate GP qualifications or recognised GP experience (of at least five years) to work in areas of greatest need in rural Victoria.
