Rural Workforce Agency Victoria (RWAV) is a not-for-profit
organisation working with communities that have underserviced health needs. We
do this through a number of initiatives that recruit, support and advocate for
the health workforce throughout rural and regional Victoria.
RWAV’s recruitment and ongoing support services have been successful in
increasing and maintaining rural doctor numbers in Victoria.
Priorities include recruitment of rural doctors including specialist outreach
services, supporting doctors who have been recruited and their families, and
providing ongoing support as long as they remain in rural practice.
This includes professional development programs and grants, locum support,
marketing of rural general practice, workforce planning and research.
RWAV’s services are delivered to rural Victorian communities with offices in
Bendigo, Traralgon, Camperdown, Shepparton, and the head office is in Melbourne.
Our Mission
Improve health for all in Victorian rural, regional and Aboriginal communities.
Our Vision
Support Victorian rural, regional and Aboriginal communities to have equitable
access to a sustainable medical workforce.
